The Edge of the Wold

Chasing rainbows

A morning of bright sunshine, sudden showers, black clouds and rainbows. This one was the most intense and there's a faint reflection in the top left corner. Here the River Bela is about to meet the Kent Estuary, and in the distance the limestone hill of Whitbarrow looms in the gloom.

After our meal with Sue last night, where as predicted there were plenty of laughs, I didn't feel like getting up early this morning. There was no dawn to speak of, so after giving Bob his breakfast I went back to bed. So I did my rainbow chasing mid-morning by which time it had brightened up a little.

Thank you for all the comments, stars and hearts for yesterday's frosty morning blip. That was one of those occasions when everything came together for the right moment. I was trying to find the right spot to position the tree and show off the icy road and hedge banks disappearing into the mist, when the sun burst through the cloud illuminating the hedges and part of the hill above the marsh.
