Saturday 3 December 2011: Fayre ladies of the chapel
The Christmas Fayre takes place in what was the village school until it was closed a few years back. Both my sons attended this small stress-free academy which still retains on the walls some of the art work that children and parents helped create.
Now it's a venue for yoga classes, lunch clubs, community meetings and seasonal gatherings.
Today there were jams and chutneys, knitted tea cosies, cakes and Christmas cards for sale. And you could sit down with a cuppa to swop gossip with your neighbours. And if you bought a raffle ticket you might end up with be lucky enough to win a hamper or a box of fruit. It's a serious business: the chapel funds depend upon these ladies' effort and they're giving it close attention.
[Some more fayre snaps in my Blipfolio.]
