Saturday 3 December 2011: Peace
The holiday parade: Santa hats and marching wrapped presents, costumed dogs, shiny antique cars, children on stilts, a vintage fire engine, roller skaters, a snappy drill team of librarians and their book carts, the high school band. From the far end of the avenue it wasn't at all clear what this apparition would be: an angel, a snowflake, a shooting star... And now, up close, an enormous dove, anchored by five strong and spirited women who deftly engineer its swooping dives in the windy morning light.
