Saturday 3 December 2011: You Cannot Evict An Idea

The Occupy Philly encampment was evicted three days ago after seven weeks of protest against the extreme abuses of capitalism. The last resisting tents (how many there were, I keep forgetting to ask) were scooped away to the landfill with bucket loaders at One o'clock in the morning.

But here you see the response, which is entitled, "You Cannot Evict An Idea." A parade and rally left the former encampment site (now entirely fenced off) and marched 11 blocks to Independence Mall where the founding fathers established the US Government in 1776. About 600 people attended.
