Probably a shot of a Jnr

Rocks

Damn things, we have a lot of them in the Peak District.

Hollow Jnr Snr's cub pack had sent a flyer home on Wednesday about meeting up at 10:30 today for a tree planting. The forestry department at Chatsworth had allocated a plot in the village where the cub hut is for about 20 fruit trees.

I wanted to go as she is new to cubs, and the hut is not where we live (long story) so thought it would be good to bond a bit with the other kids. It turned out that she was the only one from her pack, and the others were from the pack that meets after her session. So we really didn't know anyone. The fact that it was bloody freezing in the Derbyshire wind and the ground was far from ideal kept us working hard to get it done quickly - so we didn't really get to speak to anyone either :-\

When you dug down about 5cm you encountered rocks like the one shown, so it took quite a lot of effort to get the things planted! After some bone-shuddering minutes trying to get into the ground with a spade I wandered off with the camera for a quick grab.

An afternoon of painting ceilings and skirting boards followed....think I preferred the freezing rock hunting....
