What a relief, he thought. He'd often escape a number-sequence by the next number switching around. So 91 rather than 19 had found him. Wasn't '91 the year they found that iceman in the Alps? He imagined the man dying alone, not knowing that thousands of years later he'd emerge from the glacier. Did that give his life more significance? Over time, he'd learned 91 was the number of the interstate from Utah to Idaho, the number of the Psalm of Protection - but there was always something new to learn.
