Godrevy Lighthouse

Stopped off here, just around the coast from St Ives, on the way home. As we were walking towards the lighthouse two women asked for our help in dragging a dead dolphin up the beach out of reach of the approaching high tide. They were volunteers who had been called out to "rescue" the dolphin so that a post mortem could be carried out to establish the cause of death. Soon discovered that a 4 foot long Common Dolphin can be uncommonly heavy, but we managed to shift it to safety between us.

Although the dolphin was beatiful even in death, just liked the light and ominous dark clouds in this one. After a walk, we got back to the car just before the almighty downpour these clouds were threatening.
