Tuesday 24 June 2008: Underwater Camera

This is my new underwater camera (replacement for my SP-560), with a strobe borrowed from a good friend.

I've always wanted (bizarrely) to take a picture of a flash going off, so this seemed like the ideal opportunity to take two flashes going off! The diffusers on both help keep the contrast managable. This is still my most complex blip setup yet I think. Figuring out how to get the combination of self timer, long exposure and remote shutter release to work without prematurely triggering the slave strobe or getting a hand in the shot was fun...

As a little bonus, the underwater camera took a picture of me watching anxiously - the blipper blipped poised behind his tripod at the exact moment of blippage...

Off to do something less obscenely geeky now.
