Friday 9 December 2011: Windy Cross

When the weather is in my favour, when I'm out in my car, when I'm not too far away, I head for this place. Windy Cross. Up the lane from the home we had before, one we had to sell a year ago. This is my spiritual home, this is Windy Cross, high up, where the scots pine sing in the breeze to the view of Dartmoor. I love it here. I come to escape. I lean against the old metal gate, I watch the sun setting, hear the golden plovers as they glide over me. And it is here, I feel at peace.
