Saturday 10 December 2011: 'Twas a cold and frosty morning...
652/365: ... and in my excitement at seeing the frost, I was out there in my dressing gown taking a photo.*
How sad am I? It's the light you know - I just feel the need to get out there and capture a bit of it. And hope the neighbours aren't watching. Naturally!
At least today was a nice slow day. I haven't felt brilliantly well - still got a sore throat, temperature and the works - so took it kinda easy. Did take Maddy Moo to her swimming lesson which was good. She's actually really good at swimming, but does she listen to her teacher? Not a bit of it. Too busy boinging and bouncing. At one point going to sit on her float and ending up with her legs waggling helplessly, face spluttering and teacher saying 'stand still Madeleine' as she coughed. Nice work, daughter of mine! She also got carried away twizzling and spinning in the water and when she climbed out of the pool almost toppled back in as she'd got so dizzy.
The reason it was just Maddy and me was that Felix had had a complete strop before we went out so Nick stayed at home with him to 'have a little chat' (code for tell him off!). The reason for the hissy fit? I was going to take Felix to the shops to buy a couple of Christmas presents for some people we know - but not buy anything for him. This, apparently, is an outrage to Felix. And 'NOT FAIR!!!!!'. He ended up refusing to get dressed and sulking like a trooper about it all.
This afternoon I've had a snooze and done just about nothing. Nick's taken the kids to see friends (with the presents that Felix eventually helped buy once he'd got over his sulking) and they won't be back until later.
PS That means I get to have beans on toast for tea!
PPS And not have to worry about doing grown up food
* nerdy photographic information - since a few people commented on the focus, this is actually three images stacked so that the leaf was sharp across the whole of it (just about)
