Sunday 11 December 2011: OCD Mosaics...
653/365: ... if anyone has a need for someone with slight OCD tendencies to arrange their magnetic fridge mosaic pieces... I know just the person...
Yes, I realise that this is a little specific in terms of a requirement, but Felix really is quite superb at arranging and rearranging the colours into *just* the right arrangement. He spent about an hour doing this this morning, naked - of course - and couldn't be persuaded to get dressed and come for a walk. Some things, apparently, are more important. Maddy was also busy being naked (except for her knickers), and also couldn't be persuaded to get dressed and come for a walk either
So, I took myself off to the shop, bought some bits and bobs and decided that I'd also buy some aubergines and make Melanzane alla Parmagiana for dinner (yum, yum, yum!). After I got home, and as I was getting the sauce etc ready for the aubergines, Maddy made lunch. It was pesto, mushrooms and gnocchi and other than me filling the pan with water and draining the gnocchi, she did the lot herself. So nice!
We also had the brilliant idea that we'd decorate the Christmas tree. Which was great... other than... with excited kids bouncing around... we couldn't find the old artificial tree. Whoops! So, a late afternoon dash to the garden centre to buy a replacement and we ended up with a real one - and bumped into some of the other parents from school doing the Christmas tree battle at the shops too. Hard core stuff!
Anyhoo - tree decorating will happen tomorrow. Since getting home we've had dinner and I've made some butter shortbread and gingernut biccies.
And... collapse...
PS Also done 6 loads of washing today
PPS Am a teeny bit tired now...
