Monday 12 December 2011: La Lampe

I don't remember where I got this lamp. It may have been a trash-pick, or a thrift shop score, or the cast-off of a friend. I do, however, remember buying the shade in our local thrift shop. I fell in love with it right away and I hope I never part with it. It evidently began life as children's furniture --French-speaking children that is. If it were not after midnight now I'd blip the other side of it, where le chat is visible, since I'm cat-obsessed. Going around it, I knew all the words very well, save one: l'ours (bear) --who knows why?

My French is functional but not fluent. The conversation must stay simple. I miss France so much! This lamp shade is a little reminder of my years over there.
