Tuesday 20 February 2007: Dreich

There is no direct English translation for the Scots word Dreich. (pronounced dreeCH)

You can describe it:- wet, miserable, grey, dreary, tedious, cold, windy, rainy, dull... the list goes on. But I can't think of an English word that sums up today better. Maybe days like this occur only north of Hadrian's wall.
