Saturday 17 December 2011: Seed head angels

659/365... is it just me, or is the Festive season leaking into the garden? The light behind these aquilegia seed heads made them look like little angels. Pretty huh?

Been a good pootly kind of day today. Took Maddy to her swimming lesson this morning - the last one of the term and it was basically just a play session, which she enjoyed.

Was going to write something else but I just lost concentration completely... Strictly Come Dancing is on in the background and Felix and Maddy are dancing along as ever. He's dressed himself in a pair of trousers, his sister's purple boots, her old fleece jacket and a red t-shirt tied around his waist like a cummerbund. Maddy's wearing a thermal vest and has some pyjama bottoms tied around her waist in a sort of apron-style. And both of them clomping around enthusiastically. Relaxing it isn't!

Oh, and a new distraction. Maddy wants to stay up until 9pm because that's when the results of Strictly are on. It's too late for her - and the fact that she's on the verge of tears is evidence that she is shattered - and she's just yelled 'I'm NOT eight!!! I'm OLDER!!!!' as her reasoning for staying up. Still, it's better logic than earlier where she decreed that if I didn't let her have a chocolate off the tree she would take all of her clothes off. To which I laughed so hard I thought I was going to swallow my tongue.

PS I really should practice my 'oh dear darling' face a bit more
