Saturday 17 December 2011: The Mighty Quo
I mentioned we had some tickets to see Status Quo, didn't I?
It was certainly entertaining.
We arrived just in time to catch Kim Wilde singing the only two songs of hers I know, one whilst wearing a chicken on her head (it was her Christmas song, so on reflection it may have been a turkey). She had a guitarist who looked like he wanted to be all the members of Gun'n'Roses - he looked like his name might be Snip.
Then we were treated to Roy Wood playing the bagpipes - that pic was a frontrunner, but I've settled on this one of the Quo themselves.
Actually, I was quite surprised to see there are some other band members. The bassist looked like he'd been plucked straight from the set of One Million Years BC, except for his white trainers... I don't think he was actually playing his guitar at all, more of a general fondling
It was a bit like being part of a phenomenomenon; they certainly have loyal fans, and judging from a lot of thumb-upping they recognise them. But I don't think they're going to get to know my face. We did enjoy all the hits though... ROCKING ALL OVER THE WORLD!
