Prochristmanation

Roughly defined (in my case) as doing anything possible to avoid the ultimately necessary trip to the shops for the annual blitz on the list.

This shot was part of that, yesterday's day of feeling bleurgh also helped. But, in the end, it had to be done. And, in the end, it wasn't all that bad at all. In fact (and don't tell anyone) I actually quite enjoyed it. This was probably down in some part to us being pretty well organised with online stuff, and partly being out my nut on heavy duty cold remedies. Also, the roads were pretty clear, we found a free parking spot pretty easily and the shops weren't as busy as I'd expected (one was depressingly empty in fact - not a good sign). We had a good laugh and we did get almost everything we set out to get. Poor Euan is still in a state of shock having had his tightly clamped wallet emptied mind you, and I've a few IOUs outstanding but, other than one or two smallish items, we're DONE!

After Friday's entry from the same spot here I'd wanted to go back with a bigger lens and grab this shot of the Castle with Ben Ledi in the background. Even my two shopping assistants appreciated the views from up there today, though Euan was more interested in playing baseball with a discarded stick and some lumps of coal. Edinburgh Castle might have the edge on it's commanding position, but it doesn't quite have this kind of backdrop to back it up.

More snow forecast for tomorrow, work finished by Wednesday, cold and coughs on the way out, crispy duck on its way. Good times.
