A Sasanach's Skye photos

No prizes

.............No. There are no prizes for guessing where I went today or what the name of my crimper is. That red sky I photographed yesterday certainly lived up to its reputation. It has been beastly wet today.

It presented an opportunity to go and get tidied up before next Sunday. Though I visit Phil regularly I only see him at his business about four times a year. If I were a fly fisherman I am sure our paths would cross a lot more.

Testament to his hobby were the flies on the shelf in front of me as I sat with the coverall over me. Subjects of discussion today were our respective businesses, what next season would bring, our search once again for suitable staff. He has had a second barbers chair next to his for as long as I can remember but still he works alone.

Funnily enough, though I am not a fly fisherman I own four very good Fly Rods and one Beach Caster but my fly rods are antique rods that decorate the walls of the Restaurant. I also have my Grandfathers fly case full of his favourite flys. I used to have his rod too but lent it to a cousin and never saw it again. I just hope he still uses it.
