Tuesday 20 December 2011: Redhead

This was Redhead beach this evening. Redhead Beach is at the northern end of a 9 mile stretch of beach that starts at Blacksmiths on the southern end. (9 miles = 14.4 km but somehow I think miles go better with beaches). I do believe Hugh Jackman entertained the locals at Blacksmiths for many weeks when he was shooting a film there a year or so ago. It is to the south of where I live. I was hoping to get a bit of a sunset but these heavy clouds came in and it was nothing but grey with a spot of light. Still the dogs had a nice walk and even did some gull chasing. No gulls were harmed.

Tonight's Christmas lights are in Hamilton South. (Not far from home) There was no one collecting but quite a few people had stopped and brought their children (and dog) to have a look.
