Solstice: Breaking Light

It's been rainy and dreary out for much of the past two weeks. I admit that I've grown weary of the grayness and the endless dripping of the sky. If it were snow, though, we'd have quite a bit of it.

End of day on the solstice, the shortest day of the year: finally, the grayness lifted! The skies cleared, and for 10 minutes, the sun shone and little puffy white clouds appeared.

The sky was doing such cool things, I was drawn to stop by this little pond and snap a few shots of the reflections and the breaking light. Within minutes, the sun set and darkness fell again.

But for 10 minutes, I caught a glimpse of paradise.
