Saturday 24 December 2011: Happy (Indian) Christmas
Decorating the Tree this morning, we realised that a little fad we developed about a decade ago had changed the look of our Christmas .
I think it was in Quebec in 2001 that Cathleen and I started to buy a couple of Christmas Tree decorations if we were away and saw anywhere that sold them. Now our tree has decorations from Alaska, Vancouver, Boston, Quebec, Mount Rushmore, India and a few other places. Not everywhere has such items for sale, of course, but there are more than you might have thought.
This one I bought in a market in New Delhi in November, in a moment snatched between meetings. I had never seen Santa on an elephant before.
