Christmas Spirit

Once free of parental controls, we make our own traditions for Christmas.

One of mine is the opening of the sloe gin on Christmas Eve. It signifies that there's no more need to drive until after Boxing Day. The family's home for the season.

You have to drink it at room temperature, neat, slowly. Like port. It's warming, sweet and yet tart. Just what you need to accompany those first forays into cooking Christmas dinner.
