post christmas calm

For the first time in a long time we were easily able to spend Christmas with our wider family. For years we've been based far enough away that it has been difficult at least to make it up for a day. This year we spent lunch at the Otaihanga Domain eating good food and catching up in the shade from the hot sun. Kim, Chandra, Sanjay and Ryan all made it there all the way from Hyderabad which did make travelling from Dunedin (where we had been living) seem quite a bit easier than it had at the time...

When we got home I needed some quiet so set up the bike stand and tinkered with my mountainbike as the sun sank and the evening cooled.
