Sunday 6 July 2008: Obelisk
Heavy. Cool to the touch. Pleasing to hold.
The surface is just slightly transluscent, making it hard to define where space ends and the object starts.
It used to belong to my Granny. I was given it as quite a small child, I think when she was moving flat and clearing out.
I was told it was made from material taken from the Pyramids in Egypt. I couldn't remember the name though, so my dad made up a rhyme to help me:
"It's not plaster, it's ALABASTER"
Whatever it is, and whatever it is made from, I like it.
