Here was us thinking we'd come to a nice middle class suburb of Brussels and what do we get? Aye, the police coming round in the night catching burglars next door and disturbing the bairns. If we'd wanted that we could have visited Shandon or some of the other trouble spots of Edinburgh.
Anyhoo, a fine evening spent with the Belgian Hopes and most of the night catching up with the brother over most of a Duty Free size bottle of Balvenie. That meant it was a late start and a day spent doing some gentle pottering around the house and neighbourhood. By day it's a nice area with some lovely buildings with art nouveau touches. Let's see if it turns into another episode of The Wire tonight.
