Dinosaurs

It's surprising how conscious you become of the sounds of a city when you haven't lived in one for years. The sounds traffic and the rumble of trams at the end of the road. People walking and talking at night and the noise of bin lorries early in the morning. Ellen sleeps through everything but Ewan's been finding it difficult to sleep. A little overtired and too conscious of the strange noises in a strange house.

Don't know what woke me up but it meant I got to lie and listen to the city waking while reading the last of the Jobs biography. Unfortunately that was quite disappointing by the end - probably the last third to a quarter of it - as he runs out of new sources and new insights and becomes too uncritical of someone how admires too much. Jobs becomes someone dying or newly dead who everyone now claims to admire.

Anyway, once everyone was up, cleaned and fed it was off to the dinosaur museum (with the European parliament in the background). It has a proper name. And it also has stuffed animals, bugs and many impressive whale skeletons. Perfect for small kids.
