Friday 30 December 2011: Edinburgh Hogmanay Torchlight Procession

Edinburgh's Hogmanay celebrations started tonight with the annual torchlight procession through the city's streets. The procession, led by a group of Shetland Up Helly Aa Vikings, started on the historic Royal Mile and made its way down The Mound and along Princes Street, before culminating at the top of Calton Hill.
