If you can beat the birds to it that is. The first fig harvest.
Everyone knows a fig but it is amazing how few have ever had a fresh fig. They are a treat to behold. Possibly one of the most delicious taste bombs ever. Providing they are picked at the peak of ripeness and eaten within 2 or 3 days. Which of course means they are not very marketable. So we keep our 27 trees to feed family friends and us - and the birds
