676/365: ... subtitled 'a face only a mother could love'
This is Felix. Getting excited over the black pepper at Pizza Express. What child wouldn't be excited about that, right?! Oh, just my kid huh? Again. Actually, Felix just looked at this picture and went 'what's that red thing' so the whole scene doesn't seem to have had any impact on him either. It was just one of those little moments.
And it's my third Felix blip in a row - so must try harder from me tomorrow!!
Anyhoo - another day on leave (big yay for that!) and another day doing stuff with the family. Bit of pottering about first thing. Another stand off with Felix and his desire not to brush his teeth or put on his socks. A minor wobble from Maddy Moo about the orthodontist appointment she has tomorrow ('they can look at my teeth but they're NOT touching them!', she declared). And then off into town for lunch and a visit to the Nottingham Contemporary to see the exhibition there.
We went in on the bus ('I don't want to go on the bus', said Felix... 'tough' said us...) and missed the rain then. Sat in Pizza Express and watched a passing monsoon trying to shake the bus stop out of the ground and forcing everyone outside to do that international 'soaking huddle run' where they hunch down low and race from building to building. Rain stopped, we walked to the gallery. It poured with rain again while we were inside. It stopped, we walked to the bus stop. It poured with rain while we were on the bus.
Fine work rain dodging from us!
The rest of the day has involved me wrecking my knees playing cars with Felix then wrecking my ears giving Maddy a violin lesson.
PS There should be an award for anyone who has to listen to a child learning to play a violin...
PPS ... in the shape of ear plugs...
