F*kk!!

Where's the roof hatch gone? Aye, after one enormous gust, the biddy thing lifted off, pulling its hinges out as it went. And it's heavy too - probably a good 30-40lbs. Of course, it didn't travel far, just down a couple of storeys onto the glass roof of the conservatory where the Pensioner was having a leisurely breakfast reading his paper. I can pay tribute to the strength of that toughened glass above my napper - it only smashed the outer layer of the pane before catapulting off onto the garden steps. The bang did upset my concentration, mind.
Later, being the last day of the holiday, I stepped to the Cadell exhibition down at the Dean. His Iona stuff is really appealing; a lot of the rest is polite Edinburgh society from the 20s which you can take or leave. Oh, and a New Year's visit to Teuchters for a mug of macaroni cheese. Perfect!
