Tuesday 3 January 2012: Butterfly orchids
Bariloche is hotting up with temperatures in the 30s all week.
They also have a great, local bus system and the drivers like to customise their own vehicles. On the way to our day hike the bus driver had fluffy dice swinging from the ceiling, playboy bunny stickers on the window and played a mix of tunes from Enya to Roy Orbison.
So the hike. We walked around Lago Gutierrez to a waterfall called "Cascada de los Duendes" and then through the forest. The wildflowers were everywhere including lots of beautiful, yellow orchids which at first glance look like butterflies.
