Tuesday 3 January 2012: A sad day

for all sorts of reasons...

We didn't sleep brilliantly in our bunk barn, however whenever Bob woke me to ask for his Lego or to go to the loo is was very peaceful and comforting to hear 15 other people in the dormitory snuffling and snoring gently. I remarked in the morning that it felt like waking up surrounded by woodland creatures of the cute and cuddly kind, I don't think everyone agreed with me but there you go.

Post Breakfast we headed off for a walk to the foot of the Cove. The other half of the party went up to Janets Foss, we were all supposed to be going to the same destination but got split up and the group I was in decided given the raging torrent that it might be safer to negotiate the tame path to the cove (!) Fortunately we all arrived at the Lister Arms in time for lunch.

It was so sad leaving and I found it hard to not to be tearful. As I have said in a previous entry we've known Matt and Meg for quite a long time and its really sad to see them leaving but hopefully they'll return for visits and you never know we may eventually manage to save up for a trip to Oz.

We left the Pub with heavy hearts, also in part that we're both back to work tomorrow and its been such a nice long break.

The rest of the afternoon was spent in Bob's bedroom building a custom train table for him and nailing the track down and a bit of general de cluttering with an eventual aim to put the house on the market some time this month. We're not planning on going far (probably only just round the corner if we can!) but we need more space and certainly more outside space for two lively boys.

So roll on tomorrow for the hideous commute to begin again.

edit: I note that we had plans to move last year as well! Also I would like to point out that Simon's fitness regieme was not as intense as mine last year (despite his plans) so he has some catching up to do in 2012
