Day one - Manchester to Marrakesh

1. Up early and on the road to Manchester in very high spirits. Depsite the boggin weather.

2. A good few hours to kill in an airport. I don't mind, it's all part of the fun.

3. A stress free flight and all goes to plan. We land in Marrakesh before 7pm. Our driver picks us up and we get the first taste of what we're in for. Our Riad, we discover is a hidden gem. Pretty well hidden and on the walk from the car to the door, I start to get a bit anxious. All becomes clear and at the end of the lane, we find our home for the next few days.

4. A tour of the house then back downstairs we have our first mint tea. It's gorgeous.

5. And so our first trip out. A stroll to Jemaa el-Fna. I have never seen anything like it before, nor heard or smelt anything like it either. Dinner in the cafe de France on the terrace looking down on it all. My first tagine.
