Wednesday 4 January 2012: The Wise Men are here!
In Spain, everyone expects the gifts the Wise Men bring on the night of 5 to 6 January.
In fact, the great festivity of Christmas for most in Spain is January 6 (the Wise men) and its anteroom, the Ride of the Kings (la cabalgata de los Reyes).
In Barcelona they will arrive by sea and will make a journey of several miles in town handing out candy. Some city neighborhoods have also their local rides, but whether in the grand parade or in small local ones, parents always take their children to see them through.
This afternoon, this king was walking in a hurry, perhaps thinking he was late (as that rabbit), but to my request for a photo immediately stopped and posed for blipfoto. Thank you very much for him.
