Thursday 5 January 2012: Peacock Hotel Rowsley

One of the reasons we moved to Bakewell was because of The Peacock in Rowsley (not to be confued with the peacock in Bakewell) hotel, bar and restaurant.
Owned by Haddon hall it houses magnificent original furniture from Haddon hall and is a truly wonderful place for a meal or drink.
Today as it was Janet's birthday we took up their fantastic 3 course lunch ofer for £15.00.
Eaten in front of a roaring real log fire and seated on a Jacobean Settle and original early Mouseman chair, it was cooking of the finest order and amazing value for money, the highlight being an assiette of desserts.
Of course it cost more than the price of the food, as we were enjoying it so much, we invested in an extra bottle of wine!
