The Liquorice Bush

Today Tony and I have been doing all those tasks which need doing following Mick's passing. Strange how there are often good moments in the midst of awfulness. We lunched at Mick's local in the village to ask if we could use it for the drinks and nibbles after the funeral, and the landlady said she would do it for free because, as well as him being a good customer, he also helped out when needed, doing anything that was needed.

Final stop for today was Pontefract to collect certificates and deliver them where they needed to be. The small town is the home of the famous liquorice sweet called the Pontefract Cake and liquorice was once grown locally. Of course, being Yorkshire, there had to be a pub named in honour of it!
