Saturday 3 December 2011: Triple Word Score

Wandered down to the local this afternoon to watch the curtain come down on the amazing career of Shane Williams as Wales took on the Wallabies.

Pre-match warm up for me and Mr G was a game of scrabble and a couple of pints. Unfortunately the match didn't go quite as planned after a minor indiscretion saw Wales reduced to 14 in the second half. However the gods must have been looking favourably on Shane as his ran over a try in the last throws of the game. A fitting way to end an illustrious career.

The word legend gets over used in modern day sport. But as a David' on a field of 'Goliaths' I personally would argue that he more than deserves that accolade.
