Kinda Horrigans

Friday 6 January 2012: Pop!

679/365: ... this is Maddy's face when she drinks something fizzy. In this case, it was Elderflower pressé... and it made her eyes nearly zing out of her head!!

A backblip for me because I had an absolutely awful migraine yesterday. I could feel it coming on as I drove down to my Mum's in Gloucestershire but thought that taking some migraine tablets when I got there might be enough. Wrong. It got worse and worse throughout the day and though I tried to carry on as normal, by mid-afternoon I was throwing up with the pain of it and had to go to lie down. I did manage to drive home that evening - but with frequent stops - and was still throwing up more than 12 hours after it had first started. Migraines really are utterly evil.

And it came at the worst possible time because the kids were SO excited to be going down to their Grandma's house and they were brilliant all day. We went for a short walk before lunch and played pooh sticks with them over the river where I'd done the same as a child. Had some lunch... Felix played with some old Lego Mum had kept from when my brother was little. I sorted her computer. Then, we went out again for another walk - though missed a turning and ended up going to the garden centre instead. A garden centre with a parrot. Called Maddie. Who squawked 'HELLO MADDIE!!!!' at my Maddy, and both children stood with eyes as wide as saucepan lids at the massive talking bird. By then, I was feeling dreadful and while everyone had a drink (including the fizzy drink - this was the last shot I took all day!), I managed to sit with my head in my hands because of the pain.

Gah!

Anyhoo... nice day... always good to have happy monkeys who've enjoyed themselves. But grrrrrrr to the damn migraine. It's hard to explain just how debilitating they are to non-migraine sufferers. The pain is one thing, but my vision goes, I get dizzy, nauseous, and it hurts even to move. Bloody, bloody migraine.

PS Another kiddie blip...
