Saturday 7 January 2012: Cyclone M-II
I got a mate for the Suntour Cyclone M-II rear derailleur on my Raleigh Super Course. Through an online message forum, I found someone selling the matching front derailleur. According to the date code, this derailleur was made in May, 1982. This is close to the vintage of my 1983 Super Course. The bike came originally with Suntour aRX derailleurs and friction dowtube shifters. With this derailleur it will have upgrades in both areas: Cyclone M-II derailleurs and Bar-Con shifters, both from Suntour when they were at the top of their game.
This was a nice bike when I first got it, but now it is tailored to my tastes, and slightly upgraded. I dare not call the build complete, though, because every time I think it's as good as it can get, I find another upgrade for it.
