A Dog's Dinner

Lessons in cinematography

I've been watching The Assassination of Jessie James by the Coward Robert Ford and marvelling at the cinematography and it's colour palette with it's use of lots of black, browns and earth colours all very reminiscent of Terrence Malick's Day's of Heaven.

After a bit of research I discovered that both DP's were very heavily influenced by the work of Andrew Wyeth and Edward Hopper and of course if you look at their work you can see direct references in the films.

The things you learn- so here's a little homage to Roger Deakins and Nestor Almendros......... looks much better in widescreen.
