Creative teamwork in Keighley

A good day today with a return visit to Our Lady of Victories School in Keighley. I'm working with some of the children there to make a film a term to help communicate the school's inner workings to parents and others. The production team is made up entirely of children working together as camera operators, lighting, sound, reporters, directors, editors.

I'm trying not for it to be a re-enactment of Lord of the Flies but the dynamics of a creative team made up of children follows quite a predictable pattern.

1. All enthusiastic about all tasks.
2. All show preference for doing the same task (using the camera), start fighting.
3. Begin to show individual specialist preferences prompted by encouragement.
4. Start to become defensive and territorial (rules then have to be enforced)
5. Begin to work together really well.

I'd rather work with children than temperamental adults.
