Saturday 14 January 2012: Salmon Cage
The Christmas storm resulted in 12 cages full of Salmon worth £3m breaking free from their moorings up in the far North of the Island. There have been efforts try and retrieve the cages but so far only two have been towed in including this one which arrived last night. It appears two have sunk and the other 8 have been lost again in the heavy seas. Needless to say all the salmon will have died.
