Saturday 14 January 2012: city skate
Despite the warmer than usual weather the ice in the pond just off the Bow is good enough for skating and there are a lot of families out today to enjoy skating at a perfect sunny -1C right in the heart of the city.
It is less likely to be the case tomorrow: there is going to be a sharp change in the weather with tomorrow's high predicted to be -12C and then it's -22C daily for the rest of the week.
We can't complain: it has been a lovely, mild winter so far: last winter started in the middle of November.
