Sunday 15 January 2012: Broken China
This is a Chinese glass snuff bottle with the image of Mao Zedong on it. I bought it in Hong Kong a while ago from a shop selling goods from the Chinese mainland.
In order to buy it I had to explain to the (largely non English speaking) Chinese shop workers what I knew about Communism. Doing so, I remember created a large gathering of people around me as they struggled with my languages nuances and interpretation.
Sadly by Brazilian cleaner (probably not Communist by nature) broke it with a recent swish of the feather duster (I pay her as much as I can afford).
