The Chair - Revisited

Woke to gusty nor west winds after a hot shakey night, a 5.1 quake rolled through in the early hours of the morn, another one! Not sure when they will stop could be some time yet.

Hubby and I took a drive out to our local airfield this afternoon, we saw snow on the tips of the mountains and no action at the airfield. We turned around and headed east to the beach.

Today was a day I appreciated the tall pine trees and the sand dunes as the wind went over the tree tops and out to sea, calm and pleasant on the beach.
The ladder is down on 'The Chair' and there was action within, a change of guard was approaching. Two lifeguards manned 'The Chair' while one was watching at the waters edge between the flags. In the distance is Banks Peninsula, just out from Christchurch.

Sunbathing, swimming, surfing, making teepee's and flying kites were some of the happenings at the beach.

Otherwise a quiet warm Sunday at our house :)
