Resilience

" In the midst of winter,
I finally learned.
There was in me.
an invincible summer."

A Camus

Despite the sub zero temperatures and the cloak of frost that covered the ground this morning, despite the thick clouds that took over the skies, despite it being nearly the end of the day , despite all that, the sun shone brightly and delivered a magnificent glow over Leeds.

The sun never gives up, it comes back day after day and today it fought hard to be seen in an amongst the greys and the whites but it really made itself known when it was there.

Super planetary resilience ( which sounds like it should be a Muse song )

I can say nothing more other than this has been a massive metaphor for today. TTTCNBM has been preying on my mind and I was feeling quite worried and the day wasn't so great to begin with, had a long chat with my mate Alan about it this morning and got a bit of clarity
( OK maybe it should be The Thing That Can Not Be Mentioned Publically , TTTCNBMP).

Took the girls out to Roundhay Park in Leeds this afternoon, coldest day of winter so far which handily coincided with National Lose Your Gloves Day in this house.. handy ( see what I did there !) . We were a tad nippy indeed.

Met our friend Michelle for the walk and wandered around the park and the lake. There is a link to the lake here. It was my almost BlipReflections on Ice. The girls were trying to smash the ice with small sticks but they merely glided across it ( the sticks not the girls ), but when they said " Ok, let's try and get a huge log next and throw that in " that was the point at which we walked them off to the pub for tea!! Bloody reprobates.

Lovely meal and then home when Sid came round for coffee and a chat.

All in all today has been about gorgeous views inspite of the cold, gorgeous friends and company inspite of TTTCNBMP and not a bad January 15th after all

Hope yours was good
xx
