Monday 16 January 2012: Burning the xmas tree
I've been waiting for a cold day to burn the xmas tree.
It had been hanging around outside and today was sufficiently cold to warrant a blazing fire.
So axe in hand out I went and chopped it up.
I put bundles of it on the fire and up it went spitting out sparks and giving off immense heat, so much so that I worried about setting light to the chimney!
The house is now filled with the wonderful smell of pine smoke!
