Wisdom Begins In Wonder

Monday 16 January 2012: These make me hungry

At Christmas I made truffles for various members of my family and some of them were flavoured with star anise. I had a rough idea what it was and what it smelled/taste like as I have a love for chinese spare ribs but I had never actually laid eyes on it before.

Anyway these sit in the cupbaord beside all my baking supplies with the other herbs and spices and every time I'm baking I have to open this cupboard and take a deep breath. It's smell is almost addictive!

Now if I could find a way to be able to buy loads of aniseed balls without treking to a sweet shop five miles away I'll be laughing.
