Tuesday 17 January 2012: Icy edge
Another busy day today but not too stressful. I've got some more work in for the next few weeks, which means a couple more busy weeks and weekends, but that is a good thing in the grand scheme of things: self-employed people can't turn work down! I've also got some good feedback on the initial draft of a journal manuscript I'm writing, but I need to finish it by the end of tomorrow, which could be interesting given what's happening tomorrow morning...
...which is Ant's appointment at the fracture clinic. He's due to have the pin in his little fingertip and the cast removed. Having peeked inside the top of the cast, one of the fingernails has definitely not fixed itself properly back into the nailbed, so we're guessing that might have to be removed. If that is the case, whether they'll do that under local anaesthetic while we're there, we don't know. We also have no idea what the plan after tomorrow will be, but looking at the state of the finger that we can see, and given the fact he's not used his hand properly for five weeks and is still in a bit of pain (although much less now thankfully), it's unlikely that he'll be back to work on Thursday or next week or maybe even the week after. I'm also assuming that he'll have some kind of physio. Anyway, all will be revealed tomorrow. It could be a long and difficult morning...
Today's blip is the frost on some leaves of one of our patio roses. Each leaf is about 2 cm long. I took a load of photos of the same plant and could have happily blipped about half a dozen, so this may turn into a little mini-series :)
Pssst: I've just noticed it looks quite good large too!
