Wednesday 18 January 2012: Mendoza - cooling off in Plaza Espana

You know you are in prime, wine country when the rental cars are parked in a vineyard within the airport.

Welcome to Mendoza - home to Argentina's largest wine growing region particularly the malbec grape. This is our base for 4 nights and we are looking forward to hiring a couple of bikes and exploring vineyard country.

Mendoza has 4 small plazas all equal distance away from the central plaza called Chile, Espana, San Martin and Italia. Our favorite one was Plaza Espana all decked out with mosaic tiles and fountains. This little boy was making the most of the cool water.
