Wednesday 18 January 2012: Blueberries
A (mostly) failing experiment: we have two blueberry bushes in big wooden barrels, and this one in the ground. Can't help it, I'm a New England girl and I miss berry picking, even after so many many years. This little bush is only about a foot and half tall after several seasons, but I get a handful of fruit once in awhile and it makes me happy. When we drive up to Oregon in the summer, we go to our favorite u-pik place where the bushes are easily six feet tall and we have to stretch up to pick the big fat berries.
